xStandard WordPress Plugin, sortof
Marc March 3rd, 2007
I am currently putting the finishing touches to a plug-in of sorts for the WordPress admin area. It is a couple of javascripts to allow you to swap out the built in WordPress editor for an xstandard editor. You will be able to switch back and forth as you wish without re-loading the page.
Xstandard produces standards compliant xhtml mark-up, though you do need a downloadable plug-in. It’s been my editor of choice for some time now.
Have a look at xstandard.com for more info.
Leave a comment if you would like me to email you when it’s ready.
I am very much interested in this plugin.
For a long time, I would like to use xstandard in wordpress but have not yet found a working solution.
Thanks,
Kassad
well. uhm i’m doing the same. how far is your development? regarding version 2.0 coming in may (and having in mind how much work maintaining could be…) would you like to collaborate? or are you sitting and waiting?
would be cool to look at your version. mine isn’t finished – so if it shall work, that would be pure luck

I have been searching high and low for just such a plugin! Please let me know if I can help with testing…
Can you email me the plugin when it is developed? Thanks!
I want! I want!
Please sir can I have one too?
Hi M8,
Please let me know if you are going to put this into production. The community needs a n alternative to that tinymce thing.

Hi Marc. Nice initiative, but why so silent?
